About The Position

This is a professional position providing a wide range of services within the scope of infant and early childhood mental health. The clinician in this position will be providing services to children from birth through age five and their families. Infant mental health is a preventative/early intervention mental health program providing services to caregivers who may be experiencing stress due to their own history and/or to young children experiencing social/emotional/behavioral concerns.

Requirements

  • Masters Degrees in Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline
  • Appropriate State of Michigan Licensure
  • MI-AIMH endorsement within 2 years of employment at a minimum of Infant Family Specialist (or equitable category) and must maintain thereafter

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in early childhood / perinatal mental health group therapy modality (or equitable) - Preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide infant-parent psychotherapy, child play therapy, developmental guidance, and concrete services to families with children from birth to age 5 in the family’s home, or other locations in the community as clinically indicated.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations
  • Formulate and coordinate person-centered treatment plans
  • Provide infant mental health-based services to the child and their caregiver(s)
  • Collaborate with other staff in planning and conducting treatment and activities
  • May schedule psychiatric evaluations
  • Participate in reflective supervision and staff meetings
  • Provide resources that enable families to access and utilize appropriate community resources
  • Provide developmental guidance, screening, and activities
  • Act as a liaison between the community and with other agencies in working toward the therapeutic goals
  • Prepare reports for other agencies, courts, schools, etc.
  • Maintain consumer records in keeping with professional and Medicaid standards in a timely manner
  • Maintain standards for productivity and documentation and direct service standards per program and agency expectations
  • Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of agency programs
  • Must adhere to agency policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all requirement/standards of the Behavioral Health Telehealth Agreement
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
