ECE Infant Floats
About The Position
The Shaw JCC is a large community center located in Akron. It is home to the award winning Mandel ECE for early childhood education. We’re looking for nurturing, creative full-time Infant Float Teachers who have a genuine love for little ones and a passion for supporting early development through thoughtful, age-appropriate experiences. As an Infant Float, you’ll support our youngest learners across classrooms, creating a safe, loving, and engaging environment for infants and young toddlers. You’ll partner with lead teachers to provide consistent care while bringing fresh ideas, flexibility, and creativity to daily routines, activities, and play. Requirements
- A deep love for babies and a nurturing, gentle approach to caregiving
- Creativity and enthusiasm for designing and supporting age-appropriate activities and programs
- An understanding of infant and toddler development (or a strong desire to learn)
- Patience, reliability, and a calm presence
- Ability to be flexible and supportive in multiple classroom settings
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with infants or young children is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide warm, responsive. and attentive care to infants ages 6 weeks to 24 months.
- Support and implement developmentally appropriate activites that encourage sensory exploration, movement, and early social-emotional growth.
- Assist with daily routines including feeding, diapering, naps and transitions, always with patience and compassion.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a calm, safe and stimulating classroom environment.
- Observe and respond to each child's unique needs, cues, and developmental milestones.
- Communicate respectfully and positively to team members and families.
