About The Position

The Center for the Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for part-time ECE Content Developer position to join our highly collaborative early childhood education team. This position will include developing curriculum content and resources for the STREAMin3 curriculum model. STREAMin3 is an innovative, high-quality, interaction-based curriculum grounded in developmental and early education research. This is a part-time, remote, wage position. The successful candidate will be expected to: Develop high-quality, research-based, user-friendly curriculum activities and resources for working with children ages birth to five. Coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks of varying complexity, with demonstrated accountability and excellent attention to detail while implementing flexible problem-solving skills. Be self-motivated and willing to work independently and as part of team. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. This wage position is expected to be a one-year appointment, and continuation beyond one year is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. This position will also require an Education Verification. This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: 3+ years relevant professional experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience in early childhood education.
  • Extensive experience developing activities and resources for educators or families supporting children ages birth-five.
  • Expertise in the STREAMin3 curriculum.
  • Excellent executive function skills: organization, time management, shifting focus (multitasking; alternating focus on details and ‘the big picture’ as needed).
  • Proficiency in using: Microsoft Office applications (word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams); video conferencing (Zoom); and digital data management tools.
