About The Position

TITLE: Early Childhood Support Specialist SCHOOL YEAR: 2025-2026 QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed by the Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professions as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Applied Behavior Analyst. Master’s degree in a related field preferred Massachusetts license from the appropriate state licensing board, if appropriate Experience in and/or expertise in early childhood, including programming and staff training. Experience and knowledge of providing behavioral interventions and assessments, including expertise in creating and managing a behavioral system, behavioral intervention plans, and functional behavioral assessments Strong understanding of ABA principles, positive behavior supports, and data collection systems. Ability to work with students having a variety of challenges, and to collaborate with staff working directly with students in the program Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with arrival, dismissal, and transitions. Respond to behavior/regulation needs. Regularly consult with teachers. Model for teachers and program assistants. Assist staff with the development of visual supports, token systems, schedules, and reinforcement tools to increase student engagement and independence. Assist with the implementation of ACE programming, ensuring data-driven decision-making and accurate progress monitoring. Provide behavioral assessments, interventions, and teacher consultations for students identified with, or suspected of, having behavioral challenges Coordinate the creation and management of behavioral intervention plans and functional behavioral assessments for identified students Provide training, professional development, and in-class coaching for the staff in data collection, behavior management, reinforcement systems, de-escalation, and behavior plans. Conduct observations and collect data to assess the effectiveness of interventions. Participate in IEP meetings as needed to share data and recommendations regarding student progress and behavioral supports. Work in coordination with building administrators, teachers, and parents. Experience working in early childhood or preschool settings preferred. Requirements
