We’re improving the school-based work experience and are hiring full-time Instructional Assistants in Monroe, NC.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Negative tuberculosis test obtained within 6 months of initial employment
Experience as an Instructional Assistant or Teaching Assistant a plus!

Nice To Haves

Experience working with students with disabilities or in an educational setting
Completion of paraprofessional assessment or coursework
Training in behavior supports, CPR/first aid, or related areas

Responsibilities

Reinforce instruction with individual students or small groups per teacher direction
Assist the teacher with classroom management and general supervision
Prepare and set up instructional materials and equipment; perform routine administrative tasks
Supervise students in cafeteria, playground, hallways, specials, field trips, and before/after school programs
Attend to students’ physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs
Follow and support accommodations and services specified in students’ IEPs/504 Plans
Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration
