About The Position

The University of Chicago is seeking an experienced EAS Architect for ERP and Integrations to join its Information Technology Services (ITS) team. This senior, hands-on role is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, and ongoing support of the Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud platform and its integrations with peripheral and cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate brings deep functional and technical expertise, a strong integration and data architecture background, and a proven ability to lead complex ERP initiatives in a highly collaborative environment. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and well-governed enterprise solutions aligned with University priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in information technology, computer science, business, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in ERP, with a minimum of 10 years specifically in Oracle ERP, including Fusion Cloud applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both functional and technical aspects of Oracle Fusion ERP, including financials, procurement, supply chain, and related modules.
  • Deep experience with data architecture, integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, OIC), and security roles within Oracle Fusion.
  • Proven leadership experience guiding cross-functional teams, implementing complex ERP solutions, and managing IT projects.
  • Background with higher education or nonprofit environments is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), FBDI/ADFDI, and other Oracle tools.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, financial controls, and audit processes impacting ERP systems.
  • Track record of delivering successful ERP projects in a lead or architect role.
  • Oracle Cloud Certification, functional and/or technical.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills; able to empower, mentor, and inspire.
  • Manage competing priorities and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex solutions on time and within budget.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with IT and cross-departmental business leaders.
  • Deep commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and change management.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the end-to-end implementation, customization, integration, and maintenance of Oracle Fusion ERP modules.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for Oracle Fusion ERP across both functional and technical domains.
  • Collaborates with business process owners to translate business needs into robust system solutions and effective process enhancements.
  • Designs, develops, and tests innovative configurations and extensions across financial, procurement, supply chain, and other Oracle modules as required.
  • Drives data migration, conversion, and interface development efforts using Oracle tools and technologies.
  • Oversees and mentors team members and stakeholders on best practices for business process mapping, system testing, and change management.
  • Provides enterprise-wide architectural guidance, balancing configuration, customization, and integration strategies to ensure alignment with University standards and industry best practices.
  • Develops and enforces technical and functional governance, including security, data privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Facilitates workshops, document requirements, and lead gap analysis sessions to recommend scalable solutions that support evolving campus needs.
  • Troubleshoots complex system issues and provides advanced support for incident resolution, application upgrades, and patch management.
  • Partners with Oracle support and consultants to manage service requests and escalations.
  • Utilizes expertise and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements to translate business and user needs into system requirement specifications.
  • Recommends process improvements in existing applications and revises existing system logic difficulties as necessary.
  • Designs, develops, and implements new applications, systems architecture, network systems, and applications infrastructures.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
