About The Position

Chesapeake Treatment Center, a 29-bed residential center for adolescent males in Parkville, MD, is seeking Earth Science and Technology Teachers. The ideal candidates will be dually certified in General Education and Special Education. The primary responsibility of the Instructor is to deliver instruction to students based on the specific needs outlined in each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Personal Education Plan (PEP). Candidates must have prior experience working with students in grades 6th-12th and within a special education setting.

Requirements

• Applicants must be certified by MSDE
• Maryland State Teaching Certification
• Certified in AT LEAST 2 content areas
• Experience teaching in a special education or behavioral health setting
• Experience working with grades 6th-12th and in special education

Nice To Haves

• Certified in earth science, biology, physical science or chemistry

Responsibilities

• Implement individual education plans for each student
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of our curriculum and an understanding of Maryland State-wide learning outcome goals
• Maintain an appropriate level of behavior management skills within the scope of the school-wide Behavior Management Program
