About The Position

As the International School of Texas (IST) continues to grow, we announce our search for a full-time Early Years teacher to begin duties in August 2026. This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) students. The primary responsibility of this position is to teach a grade level class and collaborate with IST’s subject area specialist educators (including STEM, Art, Music, Physical Education, Spanish, and Mandarin) to ensure student engagement and curriculum alignment. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School.

Requirements

  • The Lead Teacher must have experience teaching in the primary years.
  • The successful candidate should have a strong belief in progressive education and have experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning.
  • This position requires an openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
  • Two or more years of Early Childhood teaching experience.
  • Pedagogical best practices integrated with SEL/Mindfulness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teaching Certification (Required)
  • Ability to Relocate: Austin, TX 78738: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred and increased stipend rewarded.
  • International Baccalaureate experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Teach a grade level class
