About The Position

Under general supervision, responsible for coordinating scholarship programs to include, but not limited to, the processing of applications, verification of requested documents, and interaction with applicants. This is a grant funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year of related work experience
  • Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
  • Skill in: Delivering a high level of customer service
  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
  • Ability to: Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
  • Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and present information in a meaningful manner
  • Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements: Regular physical attendance required
  • Must complete FERPA training within 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

  • Works as a liaison with contractor(s) who supply financial awards.
  • Processes and sends invoices to third party payers.
  • Reviews payment authorizations and documentation prior to payment.
  • Reads, understands, and records tax documentation of applicants.
  • Provides monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial information for budget analysis.
  • Develops, updates, and provides new information for marketing purposes to promote awareness of scholarship programs.
  • Provides updates to community and applicants of changes related to scholarship programs
  • Prepares comprehensive annual financial reports.
  • Designs routine spreadsheets, sets up routine formulas and functions with some links.
  • Develops complex tables, charts and macros.
  • Checks available budget balances, requests transfers if needed, signs and forwards for signature depending on expenditure totals, forward to buyer.
  • Administers federal, state, and local scholarships, loans and grant programs.
  • Completes and processes applications or forms for funded programs.
  • Evaluates candidates for graduation criteria and exemptions.
  • Assists supervisor with record keeping including tracking funds, expenses and related departmental records.
  • Updates existing databases on a regular basis and ensures quality control.
  • Prepares and review documents for completeness and processes completed documents as necessary.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
