About The Position

Warren Village is looking for a part-time Early Learning Center Childhood (ELC) Assistant Director contractor to work with our committed staff and families within our Early Learning Center. We anticipate the work covering classroom consultations and observations, working directly with teachers, individual meetings with families after hours, to other educational needs as listed below. Schedule will vary given the diverse responsibilities, and hours requirement is 30 hours per week. Contract Hourly Rate: $40.00 per hour. The anticipated duration of this engagement is 6 to 7 weeks, not to exceed thirty (30) hours per week, unless otherwise mutually agreed upon in writing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and a valid State of Colorado Large Center Director Certificate to include experience in a supervisory role.
  • Three years of related experience and two years of computer experience including database management skills, specifically for Brightwheel.
  • Technology Systems aptitude. Demonstrated proficiency in MS office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; and Early Learning Center Systems (TS Gold, Creative Curriculum, Conscious Discipline, Brightwheel).
  • Clear problem solving and effective prioritization and effective time management with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills with a passion for Early Learning education.
  • Ability to implement inclusive practices with a working knowledge of Colorado licensing requirements, state and federal regulations and health standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors (indirectly the teaching staff including oversight of teaching activities, addressing concerns, and providing feedback.
  • Classroom coverage and Front desk with the ability to open or close the center.
  • Works with the Educational Coach to ensure data consistency and compliance with licensing and regulations.
  • Ensure the Cook is following provided menus and works with the Gilpin Food Services Coordinator to ensure CACFP and Department of Health standards.
  • Manages the enrollment process, including monitoring the waitlist and classroom capacities, responding to inquiries, processing applications, and maintaining accurate, updated family records.
  • Manages family communications with appropriate confidentiality, including notifying staff of new enrollments and withdrawals and working closely with Family Services (in applicable cases) to ensure a seamless enrollment experience.
  • Maintain child health records and coordinate with staff on necessary accommodations as needed and communicates the nature of illness and incident report to parents daily to ensure policies on pickups, illnesses and other procedures are followed.
  • Partners with external agencies and the Family/Supportive services team to ensure complete student enrollment and eligibility criteria for funding sources like Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP), Denver Preschool Program(DPP), Universal Pre-K(UPK) , State funded Program, and Head Start are met and competently stacks funding sources to ensure organizational cost-effectiveness while providing excellent service to each family.
  • Works with Gilpin ELC Assistant Direct to implement a consistent process on tuition payments.
  • Conducts Monthly Health and Safety checks and functions as the manager on duty as needed (managing daily staffing schedules and substitute coordination).
  • Possess a working knowledge of and willingness to adopt Teaching Strategies (TSG), Interrator Reliability, Creative Curriculum, Conscious Disciple, and all other frequently utilized screening assessments (ESI, DECA, ASQ)
