Early Intervention Specialist - Therapeutic HOURLY PAY: $20.20-22.84/hour plus mileage reimbursement Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to build up to full-time hours - depending on availability and caseload in certain areas Position Location: Trona Raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience, and support. You will be part of a team that provides early intervention specialized services for school-age children and youth to help them learn and develop.

Requirements

  • High School diploma REQUIRED
  • One year experience working/volunteering with infants or young children and their parents/guardians
  • Valid CA driver’s license in good standing
  • Also must have at least one year of history as a licensed driver (in any US state)
  • Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance coverage
  • Effective communication skills to manage relationships

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Availability: most sessions will be during the day time on the week days, but some flexibility with availability including some evenings and weekend times may be needed

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Development or a related major is PREFERRED
  • if candidate has Bachelor's degree, then experience may not be required
  • ABA and/or Behavior Management skills/experience/training is highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and provide weekly early intervention services for a caseload of school-age children/adolescents who have developmental disabilities.
  • Specialists work in school settings 1-on-1 in a therapeutic capacity to work on specific behavioral or developmental goals with each child.
  • Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
  • Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices.
  • Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents with written weekly activities and effective coaching.
  • Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.
