About The Position

Early Intervention Specialist - Therapeutic HOURLY PAY: $20.20-22.84/hour plus mileage reimbursement Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to quickly build up to full-time hours - depending on availability and caseload in certain areas Coverage area includes:Palm Desert Palm Springs Coachella Indio Cathedral City And surrounding areas Raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience, and support. You will be part of a team that provides in-home early intervention specialized services for infants and toddlers where they can naturally learn and develop. Plan, schedule and provide weekly early educational in-home services for a caseload of infant/toddlers with disabilities including developmental delays and programs for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines. Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices. Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents/guardians with written weekly activities and effective coaching. Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team. This is a great position to start or advance in a therapeutic services career. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in health/human services-related major required
  • May consider Associate's degree (or equivalent) PLUS 2 years of experience working/volunteering with children
  • Some coursework in Early Childhood education or Human Development, Psychology, sociology, or related, is required
  • One year experience working/volunteering with infants or young children and their parents/guardians if candidate has Bachelor's degree, then experience may not be required
  • Valid CA driver’s license in good standing
  • Also must have at least one year of history as a licensed driver (in any US state)
  • Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance coverage
  • Effective communication skills to manage relationships

  • most sessions will be during the day time on the week days, but some flexibility with availability including some evenings and weekend times may be needed
