What You’ll Do: The primary responsibility of a Kentucky Early Intervention System (KEIS; formerly “First Steps”) provider is to evaluate and provide treatment for pediatric patients between the ages of birth and three years with needs in the areas of physical, social-emotional, self-help, communication, and cognitive development. KEIS Providers at APT, while working primarily in children’s natural environments (homes, daycares, community centers, etc.) also have the opportunity to work in other APT offices and contract locations, depending on the counties/areas served.

Requirements

Master’s degree in occupational therapy and hold an applicable and current, unrestricted license to practice (or in the process of obtaining license).
An individual who thrives on being part of a team, working alongside other disciplines, as needed.

Responsibilities

Evaluate children from birth to age 3 for fine motor development, visual motor development, sensory processing and modulation differences, executive functioning skills, and more in order to determine impact on activities of daily living (ADLs), rest and sleep, education, play, leisure, and social participation.
