About The Position

Wichita Collegiate School (WCS), a thriving Independent School located in Wichita, KS, is hiring early childhood teacher aides to support our lead teachers. The primary responsibilities of a teacher aide include, but are not limited to, the following: An excitement for creating a supportive, fun, and enriching classroom culture that reflects Wichita Collegiate School’s core values and teaching philosophy. A willingness to communicate with and receive feedback from colleague and students. A willingness to differentiate behavior support and feedback to students of all abilities. A willingness to provide diligent supervision to keep children safe in the classrooms, on the playgrounds, at lunch, and everywhere they go. A willingness to clean and maintain classrooms and playground toys. A willingness to prepare, serve and clean snacks and lunch. A willingness to provide support for children as they learn toileting independence, including assisting with clothing changes. A willingness to support Kids Club up to 5 hours a week. Optional: opportunity to work Kids Club during summer and break periods. Successful teacher aides have 6+ months experience working with children in a school or a childcare setting. Work Environment: Early Childhood teacher aides move throughout the campus and must be able to navigate campus grounds while maintaining order among students. Teacher aides will occasionally be asked to lift up to 15 pounds. Teacher aides are expected to work at the students' level as needed; this may include sitting on the floor, bending, or squatting. All Collegiate teacher aides are expected to be on campus from mid-August through May 31. During the school year, the school’s standard hours of operation are from 7:45 am to 4:00 pm. However, your hours may vary based on the needs of your position. Faculty members are expected to participate in school activities to foster our sense of community; this may include time outside school hours.
