Trinity SchoolMenlo Park, CA

About The Position

The Early Childhood Campus Curriculum Coordinator is a coach, co-researcher, and collaborative leader who strengthens teaching and learning across the Early Childhood Program. This is not a “fix-it” role. It is a partnership role. The Curriculum Coordinator elevates teacher autonomy, nurtures reflective practice, and supports educators in translating big ideas into meaningful daily experiences for young children. At Trinity, we listen closely to children, design authentic inquiry, and make learning visible through thoughtful documentation. The Curriculum Coordinator helps our team do this work with clarity, depth, and joy.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience working with children ages 2–5
  • Minimum 5 years of deep knowledge and practice in Reggio Emilia–inspired education and/or educational coaching
  • Strong understanding of inquiry-based, emergent curriculum
  • Demonstrated skill in coaching adults with warmth, clarity, and respect
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships

Nice To Haves

  • ECE/CD units aligned with California requirements; experience supporting licensing compliance
  • Experience with pedagogical documentation and developmentally appropriate assessment
  • Experience designing inclusive environments and supporting diverse learners

Responsibilities

  • Champion a constructivist, child-centered, play-based approach across classrooms.
  • Support teachers in designing and refining emergent curriculum grounded in observation, children’s questions, and authentic inquiry.
  • Collaborate with teachers to weave Trinity’s values—belonging, kindness, curiosity, and courage—into routines, provocations, and long-term projects.
  • Strengthen use of the environment as the “third teacher” through intentional classroom design, inviting materials, and meaningful outdoor learning.
  • Support differentiation and responsiveness to children’s developmental profiles, learning styles, and social-emotional needs.
  • Provide ongoing coaching through classroom partnership, co-planning, modeling, and reflective dialogue.
  • Support reflective supervision practices within and beyond the classroom.
  • Cultivate a faculty culture of inquiry in which educators act as researchers—observing, wondering, testing ideas, and learning together.
  • Recommend and coordinate professional learning aligned with Trinity’s philosophy (Reggio-inspired practice, inquiry, documentation, play, guidance, inclusion).
  • Guide high-quality observation and pedagogical documentation that makes children’s thinking, relationships, and growth visible.
  • Support teachers in connecting documentation to developmental goals and assessment practices.
  • Coach teachers in writing clear, warm, and meaningful daily communication, learning stories, progress reports, and conference materials.
  • Monitor documentation systems and timelines to ensure completeness and alignment with program expectations.
  • Partner with teachers to develop a shared materials library emphasizing open-ended, natural, and loose-parts materials.
  • Curate and maintain shared professional resources and documentation exemplars.
  • Partner with the Early Childhood Campus Director and Administrative Team to uphold program quality and consistency.
  • Contribute to policy development and quality-monitoring practices as needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of, and support compliance with, California child care licensing regulations.
  • Participate in required meetings, training, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Coordinate and manage Early Childhood Campus Summer Camp, including planning, staffing coordination, quality oversight, and day-to-day operations.
  • The Curriculum Coordinator is expected to be flexible and willing to pitch in when needed—whether through classroom coverage, supporting student files, purchasing supplies, assisting with operational needs, or caring for a child who is not feeling well.
