This Opportunity WSP is currently seeking a full-time Early Career Track Engineer to join our Transit & Rail team! This position is open to our Cleveland, OH office. The ideal candidate will provide design services for a variety of transit and freight rail clients. The design tasks will range from new track alignments to rehabilitation projects, special trackwork design and grade crossing design. Your Impact Development and production of engineering drawings using Bentley OpenRail and Autocad Civil 3D software. This includes the development of alignments, profiles, cross sections, typical sections, details and special trackwork layout and design. Inspection and condition assessment of new and in-service track on railroad property. Writing and compiling technical specifications. Preparing and checking design calculations. Research into technical topics regarding materials and methods used in track construction. Write technical reports summarizing research with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using sketches, calculations, electronic systems, spreadsheets, and software. Present the design to both internal and external clients. Complete training on assigned tasks. Work collaboratively with other engineers, planners, scientific professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded projects. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
