WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Early Career Geologist for our Fresno, CA office In this role you will be a part of the Site Assessment & Remediation business unit, supporting environmental projects that involve field studies, report preparation, budget management, and interaction with coworkers, clients, subcontractors, and regulators. Projects will include groundwater, surface water, soil, and air sampling; environmental site assessments; regulatory permitting; subsurface site characterizations involving drilling, soil classification, and bedrock mapping; and hazardous waste site characterization and remediation. Your Impact Support a wide range of environmental and engineering projects, from conceptual site model development to design and implementation of remediation and risk management strategies. Conduct field exercises including drilling, geologic logging, well installation, sampling of various media, and hydrogeologic testing. Undertake project-based travel and site work, both within the United States and internationally. The frequency and duration of project-based travel will depend on business and client needs. Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements. Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebook. Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, models, cross-sections, boring logs, and figures for the interpretation and/or presentation of data, findings, and/or analyses. Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, location data, laboratory documentation, and logbooks. Utilize the latest technologies and techniques in performing studies and analysis of organic and inorganic compounds to determine their composition. Complete training on assigned tasks. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
