As part of our continued success, Landau Associates is seeking an early career environmental engineer/scientist or geologist to join our Spokane, Washington office. The successful candidate will initially be responsible for performing a wide range of environmental investigation, remediation, and treatment system maintenance related tasks.

Requirements

  • 0 to 3 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry
  • B.S. or M.S. in civil/environmental/chemical engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or related scientific field for an understanding of contaminant nature and extent, fate and transport, and cleanup
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Registration as an EIT/GIT and experience in site investigation and cleanup is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Federal and Washington state environmental regulations
  • 40-hour Hazwoper Health and Safety certification

Responsibilities

  • Implementing site investigation and remediation field activities, such as: groundwater, soil gas, stormwater, soil, and sediment sample collection
  • oversight of well installation utilizing various drilling methods
  • remedial excavation oversight
  • injection for in situ bioremediation or chemical oxidation
  • construction oversight for treatment systems
  • operation and maintenance of existing systems
  • Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I/II)
  • Preparing drilling logs, cross-sections, and data figures
  • Supporting technical evaluation of data, regulatory file reviews, and writing sections of technical reports
  • Supporting budget development and proposal preparation
  • Travel in the Pacific NW, including occasional overnight stays, and evening or weekend work may be required
