Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Early Career Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to join our Syracuse, New York office. This entry-level role offers a blend of office-based work and field assignments, supporting a diverse portfolio of environmental projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers on projects that protect natural resources and promote sustainable communities. This position is ideal for an early-career professional looking to build hands-on experience across a range of environmental disciplines while receiving mentorship and exposure to real-world projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geosciences, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • One (1) or more years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, including exposure to:
  • Field sampling procedures
  • Monitoring well installation
  • Subcontractor oversight
  • Analytical data interpretation
  • Technical report writing
  • This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GIS and/or CAD
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • First Aid / CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental assessments and investigations involving soil (surface and subsurface), groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor
  • Conduct field sampling and provide oversight on environmental and construction-related projects
  • Enter, review, and manage field and laboratory data; assist with data quality control
  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports, work plans, and project documentation
  • Support subcontractor coordination and oversight during field activities
  • Contribute to a variety of project types, including: Environmental compliance
  • Construction support
  • Natural resource management
  • Hazardous site investigation and remediation
