Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Early Career Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to join our Syracuse, New York office. This entry-level role offers a blend of office-based work and field assignments, supporting a diverse portfolio of environmental projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers on projects that protect natural resources and promote sustainable communities. This position is ideal for an early-career professional looking to build hands-on experience across a range of environmental disciplines while receiving mentorship and exposure to real-world projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geosciences, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- One (1) or more years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, including exposure to:
- Field sampling procedures
- Monitoring well installation
- Subcontractor oversight
- Analytical data interpretation
- Technical report writing
- This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.
- Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with GIS and/or CAD
- Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- First Aid / CPR certification
Responsibilities
- Support environmental assessments and investigations involving soil (surface and subsurface), groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor
- Conduct field sampling and provide oversight on environmental and construction-related projects
- Enter, review, and manage field and laboratory data; assist with data quality control
- Assist with the preparation of technical reports, work plans, and project documentation
- Support subcontractor coordination and oversight during field activities
- Contribute to a variety of project types, including: Environmental compliance
- Construction support
- Natural resource management
- Hazardous site investigation and remediation
