The Buyer is a resourceful member of an agile procurement team that manages ordering material for production and operations according to business needs. The Buyer uses incredible multitasking and pivoting skills to develop and maintain a high quality, cost effective supplier base for raw materials, commodities, equipment, machining, and services. The Buyer leverages interests to negotiate favorable terms when placing orders with vendors. Their attention to detail and organizational skills ensure timely delivery of goods essential to keeping production flowing smoothly, which supports maintaining PAR Marine's reputation for quality products and customer satisfaction. Success Criteria: As a Buyer I, you will spend most of your time sourcing materials, soliciting quotes, and supporting supplier selection to meet production and project needs. The most successful team members bring strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. They do not just process transactions they actively follow up, ensure accuracy, and keep procurement activities moving forward. You will work in a fast paced environment where timing, cost control, and supplier coordination are critical. Challenges include managing multiple requests, negotiating pricing and lead times, maintaining accurate data in the ERP system, and communicating effectively with suppliers and internal teams. Success means securing quality materials at competitive pricing, meeting required delivery schedules, maintaining accurate purchasing records, and supporting smooth operations across the business. Summary/Objective This position is responsible for obtaining quotes, selecting suppliers and negotiating contracts for commodities ranging from low to medium level of complexity. The responsibility would also entail cultivating supplier relationships and working closely with internal stakeholders, and suppliers. This role is for a full-time employment opportunity.
