We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Eagle ACCESS Database Administrator to join our Data and Analytics Solutions (D&A) Database Operations (DBO) team. This role is located in Boston, MA In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: Monitor and administer internal and client database environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager and other tools. Perform database patching and upgrades for RDBMS and Grid infrastructure on Linux and Exadata servers. Analyze and help correct SQL, database, and system performance issues. Create and enforce standards for all aspects of the database environment, including initialization parameters, naming conventions, coding, indexing, patching, backup, and recovery. Work with other teams to automate the build of new database environments. Set up and maintain Oracle Golden Gate services for client data replication. Collaborate closely with internal organizations to respond to client issues and support requests. Develop strategies and automation to improve database manageability, availability, and performance. Evaluate and implement new database technologies. Architect, plan, and configure database environments for migration to Azure cloud services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Expertise in infrastructure operations and production services management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient SQL/PLSQL coding skills to analyze issues.
  • Basic to advanced SQL performance tuning experience, including analyzing SQL plans and traces, creating plan profiles, SQL code optimization/hinting strategies, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
  • Good working knowledge of Linux OS fundamentals.
  • Strong shell scripting skills; experience with Python scripting is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications in relevant technologies or infrastructure management are preferred.
  • Experience with Exadata and Oracle RAC is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager is a plus.
