Fluor Enterprises has an immediate opening for an E&I Superintendent at a recycled cardboard/linerboard manufacturing facility in Montville, CT. This position will primarily be responsible for the supervision of 10 direct reports performing preventive, routine and emergency maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment in a safe productive manner with a focus on quality and cost. Must possess excellent troubleshooting, time management, and multi-tasking skills, while delivering results in a fast paced, high pressure production environment.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Must have 5 years’ experience in the supervision of craft employees in a manufacturing setting.
  • Very detail oriented and willing to document details appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year Instrumentation and/or electrical trade school graduate preferred.
  • Valid CT Electrical License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with all Fluor Corporation safety requirements and programs, ensures accidents are prevented through implementation of such.
  • Consistently administers company policies and procedures (safety, discipline, payroll, work orders, etc.).
  • Available for coverage on a rotating “on call” basis for weekend and after-hours maintenance emergencies.
  • Manages the work force to ensure maximum utilization of manpower, supervises and schedules E&I Technicians.
  • Controls budgets within assigned areas.
  • Read blueprints, P&IDs, single-lines, ladder logic, and wiring schematics.
  • Maintains excellent communications and relationships with the internal customers, outside vendors and other service providers.
  • Responsible for Work Order Management through the CMMS (Maximo).
  • Work with the scheduling, reliability and planning department to prioritize the workload and to update CMMS as well as the associated job plans.
  • Assist technicians when needed in troubleshooting 480 VAC 3 phase motor starter circuits, 4-20 mA loops as well as 120 VAC control circuits.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting PLC problems through knowledge of PLC logic and operations.
  • Familiar with the following: smart pressure transmitters, magnetic & dp flow meters, temperature transmitters, ABB DCS system or at least some familiarity with DCS hardware, control valves and smart valve controllers, solenoids, pressure and flow limit switches, etc.
  • Available when needed to work extended hours (both scheduled and emergency), after-hours (early morning or late night), weekends and Holidays as required.
  • Responsible for implementing training plans for the E&I group, the mentoring and monitoring of progression of craft skills.
