About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and safety-oriented E&I Maintenance Technician to join our team. This shift position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems to support continuous mill operations. This role works on a rotating shift schedule to ensure around-the-clock equipment reliability and minimal downtime in a fast-paced paper mill environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance, preferably in a paper mill environment.
  • Proficiency with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and DCS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems (480V, 4160V), motor controls, and process instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Experience with hand tools, multimeters, calibration devices, and testing instruments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Passing entry test, E&I written test, and hands on test

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or vocational training in Electrical/Instrumentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors, drives, MCCs, switchgear, PLCs, and DCS systems.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation devices, including flow meters, pressure sensors, and control valves.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and make effective repairs to restore operations.
  • Document maintenance activities and findings in the CMMS system.
  • Collaborate with production teams to coordinate maintenance tasks during shifts.
  • Participate in shift handovers, providing detailed updates on ongoing and completed work.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and arc flash procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
