The role of an E-Commerce System Administrator is to provide senior oversight and expertise regarding the overall eco-system supporting the online environment including the infrastructure, web, middleware, and database layers and their interactions. The E-Commerce Systems Administrator is also responsible for resolving issues and recommending improvements for site viability. This will involve developing detailed recommendations, design, strategies, auditing, and consultation with other departments to resolve system issues. The position will meet regularly with other areas of IT to determine technology requirements, offer advice and perform implementations. This position also will act as a mentor to other team members. The E-Commerce System Administrator is instrumental in building and managing complex information systems and IT infrastructure. This position will support the rest of the organization as well as require thought leadership to improve and innovate. Duties and responsibilities: Have a strong understanding of the principles and concepts of technical web applications for Family Farm and Home e-commerce vision. Work with the identified project stakeholders and establish clear lines of communications.Conduct reviews to gather user requirements via workshops,questionnaires, surveys, workflow storyboards, use cases,scenarios, and other methods.Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existingrequirements gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing orfurther leveraging these processes. Input to production of test cases, as well as running and designing testing processes to ensure features and functions have beendelivered to requirement specifications. Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency,comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to the overall business architecture design. Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions around how theywill successfully execute their plans. Distinguish user requests from theunderlying true needs.Utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirementsspecifications and to document swim lane based process flows.Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in aclear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.Develop and conduct reviews of the business requirements with thestakeholders to ensure that requirement specifications are correctlyinterpreted.Assist project leaders with sponsor sign off of requirement.Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options, andcommunicating these back to the business stakeholders.Communicate requested changes, enhancements, and modifications ofbusiness requirements– verbally or through written documentation – toproject managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues andsolutions are understood and a change control process can be managed. Any other tasks as reasonably required.
