About The Position

Your primary focus as an E-Commerce Merchandising Intern will be in the following areas: Merchandising Online Assortment on acehardware.com Support E-Commerce merchant team in all phases of category and product online merchandising Improve Site Findability; through Search & Browse optimization activities Review KPI & web behavior metrics to generate data driven insights & actions Kibo Admin tool- basic site merchandising practices including the creation of categories, discounts, product ranking rules New Item and Promo activation and maintenance Responsible for edits throughout the creative process including site, email and marketing creative Responsible for product content- work with vendor and PCM team for goal of A++ content Analyze the ecommerce market to develop understandings of market trends and competitors’ strengths, weaknesses and strategies Promotional Planning Support Assist in solicitation and maintenance of monthly promotional items from vendors and Merchants Support in organizing and securing all promo offers- pricing, offer, credits Prepare of Monthly Promo Marketing file Promo creation in Kibo and/or Event Planner Partner closely with digital marketing team in order to drive channel effectiveness for Paid Search, Affiliate, Email, SEO, Retargeting, Etc. Support Clearance and Closeout opportunities Assist in inventory planning for promotional items Retailer Communication Support with daily retailer customer service Assist with communication via ACENET to relay monthly online promos and credits Assist with Merch CARE to prep Ace Care Center for calls and e-mails related to respective category Special Projects Support department and cross functional projects as assigned by Manager

Requirements

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in the following area(s): Marketing, Digital Marketing, Visual or Fashion Merchandising and/or Business Administration
  • Entering Senior year of college
  • Basic understanding of financials and operations of a business
  • Retail/customer service experience (Sales, visual merchandising, retail pricing a plus)
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel Power Point)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability and ability to learn quickly in high-pressure environments
  • Ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to contribute as an effective team member
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated motivation and initiative to succeed
  • Knowledge and interest in Ace Hardware Corporation
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday -Friday for 12 weeks (July 4th Holiday is a non-working day)
  • Willingness and ability to give presentations to colleagues, managers and directors
