About The Position

The E-Commerce Book Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all book and media operations within the e-commerce department. This role manages staff performance, workflow execution, and production outcomes while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The Supervisor drives operational efficiency, enforces quality and compliance standards, and develops team members through coaching and accountability. This position plays a key role in strategic planning, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. Requirements

  • Language Skills : Ability to read. write and speak in English.
  • Ability to type in English fast enough to meet production goals.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of general arithmetic (adding/subtracting) required.
  • Experience in material handling
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work well with others in a close office environment.
  • Ability to coordinate hand-eye-foot movement to safely maneuver/handle equipment and lift/stack donations.
  • Ability to understand English, accept directions and follow procedures.
  • Ability to perform routine work, adapting to change as it relates to workflow.
  • Ability to maintain self-control and work in cooperation with co-workers.
  • Ability to examine items and visually differentiate between them based on quality standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Forklift is desired, but not required. Training will be provided if need be.

Responsibilities

  • Operations & Performance Management Oversee daily production operations including staffing, workflow allocation, and throughput.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production rates, quality, and sales output.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Staff Leadership & Development Supervise, coach, and evaluate Leads and Associates.
  • Conduct training, performance reviews, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and growth.
  • Quality & Compliance Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain high standards for listing accuracy, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Address operational or personnel issues promptly and effectively.
  • Inventory & Process Oversight Ensure proper inventory flow from intake through listing and shipping.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align inventory and sales strategies.
  • Manage space utilization and warehouse organization.
  • Distribution Perform all functions and duties of the E-Commerce Associate I-III as needed.
  • Book/Media Scanning (Manual or Autoline), Book/Media Listing, Book/Media Tipping (Machine), Order Pulling, Book/Media Shipping (Manual), Warehouse Consolidation, Retail Book Fulfillment.
  • Load and unload trailers
  • Coordinate and organize inventory in warehouse
  • General Responsibilities Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area at all times.
  • Meet productivity goals for the assigned role on a consistent basis.
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by a lead or manager.
