About The Position

The E-Commerce Associate I is responsible for the full lifecycle of online merchandise, including acquiring items, writing detailed descriptions, taking clear photographs, and uploading them to online platforms like ShopGoodwill and E-Books. The role involves providing customer service, answering inquiries, tracking merchandise, and maintaining accurate records and a safe, organized work area. Specific duties include scanning and listing donated books, managing online auction items, and handling specialty items like jewelry, requiring knowledge of precious metals and brand stamps. The position may be part-time or full-time and requires passing a background check.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Willingness and ability to adhere to Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest directives, rules, policies, procedures, and departmental and organizational standards.
  • Knowledge of software used for E-Books processing and how to accept and reject books for online sites.
  • Working knowledge of Amazon, EBay, and other Auction Web-sites.
  • Working knowledge of precious metals, gem stones, and synthetics.
  • Ability to recognize brand stamps (i.e. high end, vintage and trendy).
  • Ability to learn jewelry testing equipment such as the sonic cleaner, Gem Oro and gold testing equipment.
  • Computer experience, including using Picasa to upload images and other sites to gather information on items.
  • Photography experience, specifically taking clear and detailed photos.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of antiques and salable merchandise.

Responsibilities

  • Record-keeping and maintaining applicable paperwork.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Demonstrating willingness and ability to adhere to Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest directives, rules, policies, procedures, and departmental and organizational standards.
  • Accepting donated books from various areas such as the Warehouse & Retail Stores for scanning.
  • Scanning books to be listed online.
  • Maintaining knowledge of software used for E-Books processing and how to accept and reject books for online sites.
  • Shelving books, audio media, and DVD's on the proper shelves.
  • Answering customer questions and following-up on customer complaints as instructed by the E-Commerce Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Tracking packages through shipping systems by individual tracking numbers.
  • Providing cordial customer service to both internal customers (employees) and external customers (retail customers).
  • Communicating known customer issues with Management in a timely manner.
  • Producing accurate and succinct descriptions of items that are to be put on ShopGoodwill and other auction sites.
  • Uploading pictures and descriptions to ShopGoodwill and other auction sites as directed.
  • Returning store merchandise not accepted for sale as directed.
  • Shelving listed items and pulling sold items as directed.
  • Working collaboratively with Workforce and Family Services to provide participant services.
  • Following all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest assuring safety of personnel or property.
  • Properly wearing and maintaining all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintaining agency confidentiality.
  • Complying with all health, safety, and fire standards and all local, state, and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
