About The Position

The E-Commerce Assistant Manager will support the mission of Goodwill Industries of the Summit (GIS) through the delivery of products and services offered by the E-Commerce Department, as well as assisting in controlling profit and loss, quality growth, and day-to-day supervision of eCommerce Department staff. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Working under the leadership of the E-commerce Manager, assure achievement of assigned revenue budget through increased quality of product, productivity, accountability, innovation, and increased sales. Recommend tactics for top-line growth through the addition of other E-commerce opportunities (i.e. Craigslist, eBay, Let go, etc.) when warranted. Operate E-commerce at or below budgeted expense to revenue ratio. Participate in annual budget process. Stay current on and communicate trends and restrictions relating to items to be posted. Operate E-commerce effectively using all standards and procedures provided. Implement updates when received. Provide excellent customer service when responding to customer issues. Assure that merchandise is presented and posted accurately to the website providing for quality photography, item descriptions, and damage free shipping. Lead a team of direct associates to assure the execution and completion of business goals and standards. Provide training with associates and hold them accountable for expected results. Understand and follow GIS policies and procedures. Assure that all associates are executing to the GIS employee handbook. Maintain safe and functional stock, storage, posting and shipping areas. Maintain and secure the equipment and E-Commerce inventory. Work as scheduled demonstrating flexibility as needed. Maintain a positive, team-oriented environment with peers and supervisors. Present a positive public image for the betterment of the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have practical knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record required.
