Job Posting Title: Dyslexia Therapist Location: Dallas - Hospital Additional Posting Details: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm PRN As Needed Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities Prepare and teach multisensory structured remedial written language therapy designed specifically for the school aged dyslexic learner Develop and enhance new curricula Train Texas public school teachers as Dyslexia therapists Teach class(es) of school-aged and adolescent dyslexic learners in the Center for Dyslexia Lab Collaborate and participate in the development and refinement of curricula Complete appropriate student reports Demonstrate expertise in teaching methods conducive to therapist training Pursue continual professional growth Demonstrate effective communication skills with students and adults At Scottish Rite for Children, we work together with the common goal of helping give children back their childhood. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field - required
- Certification as an Academic Language Therapist - required
- Strong communication skills (including written, telephone, in person, e-mail) - required
- Master’s degree – required
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching an Orton-Gillingham based multisensory, remedial program to school aged students – preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach multisensory structured remedial written language therapy designed specifically for the school aged dyslexic learner
- Develop and enhance new curricula
- Train Texas public school teachers as Dyslexia therapists
