About The Position

Third Shift: This is a 3rd shift position that starts at 10:00pm The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Team Leader to support 3rd‑shift operations within our Engine Dyno Test Cells. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about engine testing, validation, and continuous improvement. As a key member of our engineering operations team, you will guide technicians, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and ensure the safe and efficient execution of engine testing activities. Requirements

  • Associate degree in a mechanical or engineering-related field, or 5+ years of equivalent industry experience.
  • 2+ years of experience applying Lean tools (GMS).
  • 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience.
  • 3+ years of experience installing and removing engines on a dynamometer.
  • 3+ years of experience connecting instrumentation and performing diagnostics.
  • 3+ years of experience with engine component installation and replacement.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Deep understanding of gasoline and/or diesel internal combustion engines.
  • Mechanical and fabrication skills.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with PUMA, INCA, and Indicom test bed software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Slack).
  • Ability to work off-shift schedules as required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Engine Development and/or Engine Validation Testing.
  • 5+ years of experience with PUMA, INCA, and Indicom test bed systems.
  • 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Automotive Technology, Leadership, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Lead daily team operations, including staffing, task assignment, and workflow management.
  • Facilitate team meetings focused on performance, priorities, and business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for 3rd‑shift testing activities.
  • Conduct gasoline and diesel engine dynamometer testing, both procedural and non‑procedural.
  • Review, validate, and ensure the accuracy of test data.
  • Collaborate with product engineers, test engineers, and calibrators on evolving test procedures and equipment updates.
  • Partner with Lab Engineering, Instrumentation, and Equipment teams to communicate test cell performance and operational needs.
  • Apply structured problem‑solving techniques to improve processes and drive operational excellence.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of Deep Thermal Shock Testing, GCSD processes, and engine validation methodologies.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team environment with open communication and strong engagement.
