About The Position

The Dynamic Sourcing Analyst identifies, prioritizes, and implements sourcing optimization opportunities that provide Gordon Food Service (GFS) a net financial benefit in Cost of Goods (COGS) & operating efficiency across our network. Collaborates with MSC Category Marketing Teams, US National Supply Chain, Divisions, Capstone, and Suppliers to facilitate and support projects impacting multiple divisions. Other functions included in these activities are analyzing Cost, Bracketed Pricing, Geographic point-of-origins, Negotiation, & Financial review to track the realization of benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, product/category merchandising, sales or marketing.
  • Understanding of principles of food service vendors, products, cost, freight, and sourcing and supply chain management.
  • Working knowledge of cost structure & financial margin.
  • Working knowledge of DC operations.
  • Must have strong mathematical skills and ability to calculate figures such as averages, proportions, percentages, etc.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, email, Google tools, internet software applications, and the ability to learn new software related to the role.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to speak effectively with internal and external customers, suppliers or colleagues on the phone and face to face.
  • Must have skill in self management and task prioritization, accepts responsibility for own actions, follows through on commitments and reacts well under pressure and to fluctuations in workload.
  • Must have good customer service and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Ability to problem solve and develop solutions to a variety of complex business issues.

  • Gordon Food Service systems - including item, vendor, cost, pricing and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead efficient processes for handling point of origin responsibilities and the most effective sourcing solutions, while collaborating with Suppliers, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Operations and Sales teams.
  • Work in collaboration with Merchandising, Capstone and Suppliers to leverage the optimal bracket with suppliers.
  • Maintain and govern inter-DC sourcing at the item and lanes level.
  • Collaborate with Capstone to maintain proper lanes and networks.
  • Optimize Multi-echelon sourcing for emerging regions, new distribution centers, re-distribution centers, etc.
  • Responsible for deliberate and thorough collaboration and communication across all teams to ensure excellence in implementation and execution, including all core data elements impacted through to deployment.
  • Assist as needed in the item and vendor setup process when merging with a launched project.
  • Assist internal teams with questions related to core item data.
  • Supports the identification and development of process and technology advancements to achieve long term Sourcing Optimization Objectives.
  • Understands, requests and analyzes pertinent reports and resources to drive effective decision-making to provide product sourcing expertise.
  • Provides sourcing and slotting direction in support of new customer roll-out including pick and purchase locations, vendor location and order minimums.
  • Supports US Multi-Unit proprietary item and supplier management in collaboration with Account Management teams, Supply Chain, Customer Integration, Marketing, Divisions and Supplier Community.
  • Perform and communicate Customer Exit sourcing impact analysis, including bracket / COGS impact.
  • Identify and analyze inbound network optimization opportunities for US Multi-Unit business, including slot assignment, route realignments, volume increases, bracket opportunities, and anticipated margin impact.
  • Determines sourcing solutions for one-off item, vendor or margin opportunities with Account Managers, NAPA, MMSC, and Regional/Divisional Merchandising Culinary specialist.
  • Manages US Chains Suppliers to support GFS policies for OS&D and supplier freight pricing.
  • Educate suppliers and field any concerns or questions regarding freight, shipping locations, receiving and warehousing requirements, fees, damage, etc.
