About The Position

The Dyehouse Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring dyeing machinery used in the processing of fabric rolls. This role ensures that fabric is dyed to precise specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency during the shift. Will also be required to fill production jobs as needed by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 18 Years of age with a valid and authorized to work in the Us with transportation to and from work.
  • Experience in textile dyeing, especially with fabric rolls, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret dye formulas, production orders, and safety data sheets.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must comply with all safety, quality and production requirements and instructions.
  • Desire to comply with company’s safety policies.
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver fabric rolls (up to 75 lbs), stand for extended periods, and work in a hot, humid environment.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate and perform simple functions such as lot # entry.
  • Ability to work during nom-peak, off scheduled shift and overtime if needed.
  • Ability to learn, analyze, listen and follow instructions, Desire to contribute to the company’s continuous improvement process.
  • Must always maintain professional attitude and appearance.
  • Must be able to multitask and re cross trained.

Responsibilities

  • Operate dyeing machines designed for fabric rolls, including jet dyeing.
  • Load and unload fabric rolls onto dyeing equipment using appropriate handling tools and techniques.
  • Measure and mix dyes and chemicals according to batch formulas and production orders.
  • Monitor dyeing parameters such as temperature, flow rate, pH, and dwell time to ensure consistent results.
  • Inspect dyed fabric rolls for color accuracy, uniformity, and defects when unloading.
  • Record production data including lot numbers, dye formulas, and machine settings.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of dyeing machines and work area.
  • Follow all safety protocols including chemical handling procedures and PPE usage.
  • Communicate any equipment issues or production delays to the supervisor promptly.
  • Assist with inventory control of dyes, chemicals, and fabric rolls.
