The Chief Maintenance Engineering Manager is a key member of the property management team, responsible for ensuring the hotel is properly maintained and that the maintenance team adheres to all brand and McKibbon standards. This role oversees the repair and upkeep of the hotel’s physical infrastructure, including (but not limited to) plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool systems, fire and life safety equipment, and general facilities. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Chief Maintenance Engineer Manager plays a vital role in maintaining the property at the highest quality standards, ensuring a worry-free experience for guests and protecting the asset for ownership. This position embodies McKibbon’s Guiding Principles through consistent leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence. A Day in the Life Chief Maintenance Engineering Manager will be working autonomously in some instances, without constant supervision. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operations and functions of both the interior and exterior areas of the property. Perform any necessary construction trades, like plumbing, electrical, carpentry, basic heating and air conditioning, pool maintenance, painting, caulking, etc. Maintenance Engineer Manager will not be expected to be an expert in all trades but will be expected to be proficient enough to do a good job and to train others in the engineering department. Beside the trade skills, you will need to possess certain people skills that will allow them to be proactive and interactive with other associates and guests of the hotel. Play a key role in communicating and interacting positively with associates and guests. Adhere to guidelines established by McKibbon Hospitality to ensure the safety of associates and guests, while protecting company assets. Capable of reading, understanding, and preparing both operational and capital budgets. Maintenance Engineer Manager will be responsible for planning, delegating, and managing the work of one or more team members. Team size is based on property size and complexities. Lead the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing coaching of maintenance team members with the support of the AGM and GM.
