The Dual Enrollment Academic Coordinator is part of a Dual Enrollment team that includes faculty and staff in both Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management who work together to run one of the largest and most successful Dual Enrollment programs in the state, including all DE professional development, events, and accreditation efforts. The Coordinator is responsible for creating new and maintaining existing academic partnerships and relationships with high schools, school systems, the Alabama State Department of Education, and other stakeholders in Jax State’s Dual Enrollment (DE) program. This includes regular visits to partner high schools for schedule planning, student success, advising, and memorandum of understanding (MOU) signings, etc. The Coordinator works with the Director of Graduate and Accelerated Programs and the Associate Vice Provost to make the DE schedule of classes, including in-person classes on partner high school campuses and online classes. Because of their regular visits to partner high schools, the Coordinator assists in recruiting new DE faculty, who are then vetted, credentialed, and onboarded by the academic departments with assistance from the Director of Graduate and Accelerated Programs. The Coordinator works closely with high school administrators to provide needed data throughout the academic year, partner school annual reports, and professional development as needed, and plans the annual partner school luncheon. The Coordinator oversees all aspects of DE academic honors, probation, and the student success program, including the supervision of all DE Academic Counselors. The Coordinator also advises DE students and plans events through Jax State’s JSTEAM program. This position requires some travel and occasional evenings and weekends.
