In this role, you will provide essential support to team members on shift, ensuring the safety, well-being, and engagement of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative and person-centered environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or certifications preferred
  • Prior experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
  • Basic math and computer proficiency
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a care team
  • Physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the shift
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Safety Care-QBS Training
  • DSP certificated preferred, must obtain DSP certification within 120 days (4 months) of employment.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification must be obtained within 120 days (4 months) of employment
  • Shore will provide training if not obtained at another location.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily supervision of individuals served, including during activities and routines
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized service plans and general care strategies
  • Monitor and document behaviors, progress, and incidents accurately and consistently
  • Participate in data collection, plan development, and implementation processes
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with individuals served, families, and team members
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
  • Attend required trainings and staff meetings to stay informed and aligned with program goals
