About The Position

Are you adaptable, reliable, and passionate about helping others succeed in meaningful work? TERI is looking for a DSP-1 Integrated Employment Job Coach to support individuals across multiple job sites throughout North County San Diego. At TERI, we empower individuals with special needs and foster an inclusive community where everyone learns, creates, and thrives. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on training, direct support, and oversight for Interns in our Integrated Employment Program. You’ll also track progress and build partnerships with local businesses to create meaningful job training opportunities. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and values consistency and follow-through. Assignments may rotate every few months across sites such as Vista, San Marcos, and Escondido, with varying schedules (for example, 10am–5pm or 8am–3pm). Flexibility and adaptability are key to success in this position.

Requirements

  • Flexible availability required: Must be willing to work rotating shifts and at multiple sites, with varying start/end times, including occasional evenings
  • Must pass a criminal background check and have an acceptable driving history

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience supporting individuals with special needs preferred
  • Experience in adult vocational or volunteer environments preferred
  • Equestrian experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct training and support to individuals in the Integrated Employment Program
  • Participate in intake, assessment, and placement processes
  • Develop individualized Intern goals and contribute as a member of the IPP team
  • Maintain documentation related to IPP goals, attendance, progress, and health/safety
  • Transport Interns to and from work training sites as needed
  • Support interns in discovering strengths, overcoming barriers, and developing workplace skills
  • Teach job-specific tasks as well as essential “soft” skills (e.g., communication, professionalism)
  • Assist with accommodations and provide crisis support when necessary
  • Identify and maintain internship/business site partnerships in the community
  • Ensure Interns’ health, safety, and best interests are prioritized at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
