A Typical DayThe Protein Dryer Operator is responsible for safely operating Protein Dryer Equipment to process and dry whey protein package in accordance with company Food Safety and GMP practices.

Requirements

  • English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and rotating shifts (day/swing/graveyard)
  • Ability to lift up to 45lbs

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • 1 year SAP experience.
  • 1 years of dairy manufacturing experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Practice significant computer interface functions. (Wonder Ware, Word and Excel based)
  • Operation and understanding of whey protein processing and drying fundamentals and drying recipes.
  • Practice proper product handling to ensure minimum product loss.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation.
  • Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off.
  • Help coach and train teammates and participate in on the job, buddy training.
  • Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Hold self and others accountable to HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
  • Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times.
  • Report any safety issues, observations, opportunities to your teams and follow up.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures at HCC.
  • Follow all HCC Food Safety and GMP practices.
  • Perform pre-start up inspections on respective equipment.
  • Troubleshooting of respective equipment when problems arise.
  • Perform shut down on respective equipment
  • Notify Supervisor of any problems with equipment or processes that could affect the product integrity or quality, or that could impose a possible safety hazard.
  • Maintain equipment and work environment cleanliness.
  • Conducting CIP’s, COP’s and other cleaning steps according to HCC procedures.
  • Operate and understand fundamentals of multiple pieces of equipment.
  • Multitasking of several operations as once.
  • Complete annual OSHA required safety training.
  • Complete annual hearing test.
  • Complete annual GMP training.
  • Annual completion of Training Skills Assessment.
