Drupal Front End Developer

Position Overview Promet Source is seeking a US-based contract Front End Drupal Developer to support an established team of Drupal experts on a remote, contract basis. Hours per week will vary but can be from up to 5-20hrs per week. In this role, you will be responsible for front-end site building and custom development for client websites, ensuring high-quality, accessible, and standards-based Drupal solutions. Contract Rate: $50–$72/hour Location: Remote (US-based candidates only) Benefits: Not provided (contract role) Security Requirements Candidates must be able to: Pass a background check including fingerprinting Obtain DOI clearance Secure a PIV card for this project
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Drupal’s theming layer and related functions
- Proficiency with Twig and modern CSS workflows (SASS/CSS)
- Solid JavaScript development experience
- Expert-level knowledge of semantic HTML markup
- Ability to write and audit HTML for WCAG accessibility standards
- Advanced experience with CSS3 modules and responsive design
- Familiarity with CSS preprocessors (SASS, LESS, PostCSS)
- Experience implementing BEM or similar CSS methodologies
- Strong front-end JavaScript skills, including custom library development
- Experience with modern frameworks such as React or Vue
- Experience building JavaScript solutions for CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress)
- Familiarity with linting tools and front-end build processes
- Experience with front-end testing frameworks
- Exposure to component library tools (Storybook, Pattern Lab preferred)
- Expertise in layout-driven Drupal site builds (Panels, Layout Builder, Layout Manager, etc.)
- General understanding of project management approaches (Agile, Iterative, Waterfall)
- Strong work ethic, proactive mindset, and drive for success
- Experience working effectively in small, collaborative teams
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Pass a background check including fingerprinting
- Obtain DOI clearance
- Secure a PIV card for this project
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to build and enhance the front end of Drupal websites
- Contribute to open source initiatives, including Drupal themes and front-end libraries
- Maintain best practices and high development standards across all work
- Implement accessible, user-friendly, WCAG-compliant web pages
