About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant works interdependently with other medical professionals to provide quality health care to a high volume of patients. Nursing Assistants/Medical Assistant provide direct patient care for and treats patients in the office, as directed by Physician, Advanced Practice Provider, Registered Nurse or Supervising Manager.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Clinica Assistant or Nursing Assistant program is required.
  • Prior healthcare experience required.
  • Job experience may be substituted in lieu of the educational requirement.
  • Exposure in electronic medical records (EMR/HER) software required.
  • Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy for patients and families.
  • Strong ability written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate and interact professionally with others.
  • Ability to listen.
  • Ability to observe and to draft a narrative account of events accurately and cogently, in grammatically correct English.
  • Ability to spell, proofread and edit written text.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as an assistant to the site Study Coordinators of the Research Department.
  • Responsible for helping in the successful enrollment of all clinical trials.
  • Assisting with patient appointments such as collecting vital signs, ECGs, preparing patients rooms and collecting and processing biological samples.
  • Entering data into databases, and maintaining accurate records
  • Verifying and making patients appointments
  • Assisting with the study data entry and case report from completion, maintain appropriate source documentation and study binders, help with monitoring visits and regulatory filing.
  • Assisting in query resolution and other necessary sponsor and IRB correspondence, providing exceptional multi-tasking skill in all clinical areas.
  • Understanding of research protocols and procedures necessary for carrying out research activities accurately and effectively. Ensuring compliance with study protocols, regulatory guidelines, and ethical standards.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Keep management informed of high-risk situations.
  • Demonstrate appropriate use in cleaning of equipment.
  • Practice infection control, following OSHA guidelines and office policy.
  • Maintain Nursing Assistant certification and or recertification. If not certified at the time of employment, will have 90 days to complete certification or employment will be terminated.
  • Maintain CPR certification.
  • Attend fire safety classes, clinical meetings, compliance, and other continuing education classes as offered by Physicians East.
  • Adheres to department and office policies.
