Looking for a friendly, patient and skilled driver with an F Endorsement or CDL to transport our precious Seniors to outings and appointments and become a part of our Ivy team! Position Summary The Driver provides safe, timely, and courteous transportation for residents while ensuring dignity, comfort, and safety at all times. This position assists in coordinating transportation for medical appointments, social activities, and community events, while maintaining all vehicle safety and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Class D driver’s license with F endorsement (CT) or CDL (as required).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles and secure residents properly.
  • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and compassionate service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet residents, families, and staff warmly while respecting dignity and confidentiality.
  • Assist residents safely into and out of vehicles, including wheelchair and assistive device support.
  • Escort residents to appointments and report any changes or concerns to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections.
  • Ensure all safety equipment (seatbelts, wheelchair tie-downs, van lift) is properly used.
  • Follow all transportation safety laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate mileage and trip logs.
  • Follow all accident reporting procedures.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules in partnership with leadership and reception.
  • Ensure vehicles remain clean, maintained, and ready for service.
  • Communicate any schedule changes, concerns, or vehicle issues promptly.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and professionalism at all times.
  • Transport residents to medical appointments, shopping, movies, lunch outings, museums, concerts, and other community events.
  • Support engagement by helping residents remain active and connected beyond the community walls.
