About The Position

The right individual for this position has a passion for helping others, is nonjudgmental, and able to deal with difficult situations in positive and constructive ways. As a Driver with Helping Hands, you will transport passengers (participants and/or staff) within the Portland Metro Area. Work Schedule: Full-time, including early morning, evening, and weekend work. $18.90, full-time benefit eligible, Medical/Dental/Vision/401k/PTO.

Requirements

One year of driving work experience
Effective Communication & Customer Service Skills
Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations
Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
High school diploma or equivalent
Current driver's license with acceptable 3-year driver’s abstract
25+ years of age to be covered under employer’s driver’s policy
Background Check

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with ADA lifts, devices, and transportation
Experience with Electric Vehicles
CPR/First Aid/AED training
Direct or Lived Experience with homelessness, addiction, and/or low-income populations.
Understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic violence, and sexual assault

Responsibilities

Drive designated route(s) approximately 4 times throughout shift
Maintain vehicles in clean external and internal condition
Maintain van charges throughout shift
Transport individuals
Keep accurate and up-to-date vehicle log, ensuring problems are reported to supervisor
Perform routine pre-trip safety inspections
