About The Position

Tessera is seeking a skilled Tractor Trailer Driver to safely and efficiently operate combination vehicles with a gross weight of 26,001 pounds or more and towing capacity exceeding 10,000 pounds at WSBOSC. This role includes operating tractors with flatbed, lowboy, dry van, refrigerated, and heavy haul trailers to transport personnel and products both on public highways and within the military base. The Driver is expected to provide safe, timely , and courteous service while maintaining compliance with all traffic laws and safet y regulations . Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/GED is .
  • CDL Class A , with HAZMAT and passenger endorsement preferred.
  • TWIC preferred.
  • Forklift certification is preferred .
  • Must possess a valid US Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s Identification Card.
  • Must have current or be able to obtain Medical Examiners Certificate (DOT Card) before hire .
  • A valid state driver’s license is with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy vehicles, including tractor/trailer combinations, for personnel and cargo transport.
  • Deliver cargo and vehicles, including HAZMAT and oversized loads, ensuring proper load security .
  • Perform pre-trip inspections, preventive maintenance, and fueling of vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs and clear communication with customers.
  • Support motor pool operations, including medium truck and bus driving as needed.
  • Uphold safety, compliance, and professional appearance at all times .
