About The Position

Come join the Mahoney Team in Wendell, NC. We are looking for a Driver Supervisor to work the night shift. The Driver Supervisor will develop and support all drivers to exceed customer expectations. They will help create a safe work environment and ensure all stops are completed with-in the scheduled timeframe and that the market area meets or exceeds the cost to collect budget. the driver supervisor will also need to have a valid U.S. CDL license to cover routes if there is the business need. Schedule: Monday through Friday 11:00pm - 9:00am

Requirements

  • At least two years supervisory experience.
  • Proven sound business judgment.
  • Good computer skills (word and excel).
  • CDL A or B with tanker endorsement with three years CDL driving experience.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to at least 100lbs.
  • Safety and DOT compliance driven.
  • DOT certified medical card.
  • Safety risk rating within Mahoney Environmental acceptable standards
  • Ability to drive manual 8- and/or 10 and or 13 transmissions.
  • Ability to drive automatic transmissions and use of PTO.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer at least two years route management and logistics experience.

Responsibilities

  • Creates top grade drivers through training, safety and follow up, while creating excellent customer service relationships.
  • Ensures each Driver is equipped with all the proper supplies needed to exceed the Customer’s Expectations.
  • Provides the relevant information needed to update the customer intervals as needed.
  • Communicates with the drivers frequently throughout the shift including call-ins, route issues, safety issues, etc.
  • Works with the DOT to retrain and certify drivers.
  • Trains drivers on truck equipment, cranes, trailers, etc.
  • Make sure that proper safety procedures are in place and followed for all equipment.
  • Ensures that all driver logs are completed correctly and turned in timely.
  • Conduct monthly driver meetings.
  • Responsible for responding to spills from the first call, signatures from managers and city officials until completion.
  • Communicates expectations for new drivers and follows up on a regular basis.
  • Manages truck weights and targets.
  • Trains drivers to perform pre & post trip inspections and follow up to make sure they are followed.
  • Ensures that drivers complete all paperwork timely and accurately including route, DOT, and safety.
  • Provides resources to drivers (comdata, per diems, etc.).
  • Make sure drivers complete fleet orientation and health and safety orientation manual.
  • Communicate with customers on ETAs, spill process, theft issue, service issues.
  • Communicate with drivers and customers for proper access to locations and equipment.
  • Thinks safety and continually scan the work environment; make suggestions for corrections and improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
