This position is located at the Fresno DMV Driver Safety Office (DSO). Under the direction of the DSM II, incumbent is responsible for daily operations in planning, organizing and directing the work of a professional staff of Driver Safety Hearing Officers. Responsibilities include the training and supervising of the Driver Safety Hearing Officers; conducts quality reviews and evaluate performance; provides coaching and guidance and initiates corrective measures; maintains effective quality control measures to ensure accuracy and timeliness of work; handles various personnel matters and follows departmental policies and procedures related to employee issues; tracks requests for information and other documents with due dates; prepares production reports and other statistics; prepares correspondence letters, memos, and other documents; maintains cooperative relations with governmental agencies and ensures prompt, courteous, and complete service to the public; and acts to resolve customer complaints.
