About The Position

International textiles production & distribution company, with production facilities in Egypt, is growing and expanding to the Longwood/Orlando Florida area. We are seeking an experienced and customer focused Driver to thrive in a fast-paced business. Must be able to adapt to changing demands and needs while maintaining composure and providing thoughtful suggestion for improvement. Our product lines include: Bedding (sheets pillowcases, pillows, mattress pad, encasements, pillow tops, etc.), terry (all towel products), rugs, shower curtains, robes, slippers Essential Functions: We are looking for a driver to operate the company vehicle and deliver our products with care, exceptional service and professionalism to our luxury clientele

Requirements

  • A valid U.S. driver’s license and, in some cases, a commercial driver’s license
  • Knowledge of how to handle and secure materials safely.
  • Strong working knowledge of Longwood/Orlando roadways including all essential DOT rules & regulations
  • At least 3 years delivery/driver experience.
  • US work authorization required; no sponsorship
  • Clean driving record
  • Successful Driving record background check
  • Familiarity with using navigation systems.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to ensure deliveries are made on schedule.
  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving.
  • Ability to load and unload heavy cargo and use any machinery or equipment necessary to help.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • A clean driving record and safe driving skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Great customer attitude and attentiveness.
  • Ability to operate a van/truck for 8 hours.
  • Physically able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work varied schedule including nights and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Following all traffic laws, Florida DOT laws, rules and regulations and best practices for safety when delivering items
  • Communicating with warehouse team, drivers, and other team members to make deliveries.
  • Meeting delivery deadlines and following assigned delivery routes.
  • Drive assigned routes in safe and timely manner
  • Performing basic van/truck maintenance, doing visual inspections, and reporting potential issues
  • Completing pre/post trip inspection logs
  • Preparing, loading, and unloading the delivery vehicle at warehouse and delivery site locations
  • Providing exceptional customer service and obtaining client or customer signatures when needed
  • Accurately completing any delivery paperwork/trip reports
  • Experienced with liftgates, pallet jacks and hand-truck usage
  • Communicate effectively on status, delays, customer feedback, challenges experienced
