About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and safety-focused Driver Manager to oversee and support a team of CDL drivers across multiple branch locations. The ideal candidate will ensure drivers comply with federal, state, and company regulations while maintaining operational efficiency, safety standards, and excellent customer service. This role involves managing driver performance, coaching, compliance documentation, and coordinating with other departments to resolve operational issues.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations.
  • Clean driving record and valid DOT Medical Card.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and on-call availability.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, responsibilities, and timelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience in the fuel transportation industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach drivers, including performance evaluations and progressive discipline.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Collect and verify pre-employment and training documentation; route to appropriate departments.
  • Perform delivery audits to ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Enforce all DOT regulations, procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment.
  • Support truck maintenance and operations as needed.
  • Respond promptly to driver concerns, issues, or emergencies.
  • Investigate incidents such as spills or cross drops and report findings.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, staff, and customers regarding driver activities.
  • Ensure deliveries are completed on schedule and in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Conduct check rides to improve driver performance and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain drivers' qualified status under all applicable DOT regulations.
  • Follow company accident and incident reporting procedures for all incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
