Knowledge and Experience: Minimum (3) years of direct management experience in a similar size or scope. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to work without direct supervision. Knowledge of the Phoenix East Valley area (Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale). Intermediate computer skills to include MS Office products. Must have a valid AZ driver license with a clean driving record. Skills: High level of attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both written and oral. Strong organizational planning skills. Strong practical skills. Strong analysis and problem-solving skills. Basic math skills. Key Accountabilities: Accountable for the high-quality Bus Operator over an assigned Depot (Tempe or Mesa). Ensures all company and contractual key performance indicators (KPI’s) are achieved. Ensures proper enforcement, management and follow-up of Bus Operator attendance through Keolis Attendance Tracking Systems. Develop Corrective Action (EDR Hearings), leads disciplinary process for assigned depot partnering with Route Performance Managers for issuing and the Manager Bus Operator Performance as required for suspensions and terminations. Ensure timely investigation and follow up on incidents and performance issues. Works closely with other department and sub-department Managers to drive continued service performance and success. Ensure high employee morale, employee satisfaction and planning of employee engagement events and activities. Ensure service readiness, goal of 100% on time pull-outs, goal of Zero missed service is consistently being achieved. Meets with the Service Quality Department daily to review data trends, departmental performance and prepare action planning. Meets with the Workforce Planning Department daily to ensure efficient use of resources based on real-time operations and data. Prepares a weekly performance report PowerPoint Presentation and presents to Senior Leadership weekly on performance improvements. Take proactive measures of follow-through to address violations not in compliance with policies and procedures and CBA. Participates hearings and union related business as required. Provide coaching and performance feedback to ensure high-quality service delivery. Foster a team environment aligned with Valley Metro's core values: Whatever It Takes, Team Player, Positive Customer Care . Other duties as assigned. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Generally, office/office cubical environment with occasional outside work environment in extreme heat and/or cold temperatures. Drive for occasional visits to either the Tempe or Mesa locations. May be exposed to fumes and sound associated with a bus transit depot. Require flexibility with evening, weekend and/or holiday hours Ability to sit for extended periods and operate standard office equipment (computer, printer/scanner, office and cell phone). Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies). Additional Statements: Drug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
