About The Position

The Driver II is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from various destinations within the greater Cincinnati area using company vehicles such as buses, cars, and vans. This role requires adherence to schedules, traffic laws, and established policies, while demonstrating safe and efficient driving skills. The driver must also ensure the proper operation of vehicle equipment, including lifts, and maintain the vehicle's cleanliness. Professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with company mission and philosophy are essential. The position involves completing trip documentation and attending annual mandatory in-services.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Fewer than six points for traffic violations at any time.
  • Compliance with training requirements of OAC 173-39-20.
  • Compliance with DOT Fitness Determination including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to safely operate cars, vans, and buses in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and vehicle safety equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of area roads and ability to read road maps.
  • Ability to adjust routes in response to traffic or weather conditions.
  • Ability to interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Professional in appearance and behavior.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum two years driving experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Drivers License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Transport residents to and from destinations throughout the greater Cincinnati area by bus.
  • Adhere to the schedule to transport assigned passengers to and from destination on time in accordance with established policies and traffic laws.
  • Demonstrate safe and efficient driving skills, and be courteous and cooperative.
  • Deliver all requested items/passengers to appropriate destination.
  • Review schedule and required safety checks prior to departure.
  • Complete and return all required trip documentation in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, support administration, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to Mission and Philosophy of the Bayley.
  • Drive all assigned transportation vehicles, operate lift, and properly secure residents and accompanying equipment for transport.
  • Maintain vehicle in a clean, orderly fashion.
  • Report any observed mechanical problems immediately.
  • Attend mandatory-inservices annually.
  • Perform other duties as requested/required.
