About The Position

This Position Requires A California Driver's License Class A, B, or C with Passenger Endorsement. Transports patients, visitors, employees, personnel and supplies to and from facilities in a safe and courteous manner. Performs daily and preventive maintenance on vehicles, including keeping vehicle filled with gas and checking oil. Prioritizes and coordinates multiple transportation requests, while still providing timely transport service between facilities. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent job performance, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.

Requirements

  • This Position Requires A California Driver's License Class A, B, or C with Passenger Endorsement.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
  • Passenger Endorsement Required
  • DL-California Drivers Class A,B or C with Passenger Enforcement
  • AUTO-Automobile Insurance
  • Transportation Certification
  • Department: Shuttle drivers - California Driver's License Class A, B, or C with Passenger Endorsement.
  • 1 year driving experience.
  • Knowledge of patient transport policies and procedures and a basic understanding of vehicle operations and maintenance.
  • Keen problem solving ability; comfortable performing in unforeseen scenarios and quickly changing from one task to another.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Possess written and verbal communications skills to communicate with fellow team members, supervisors, patients, and other hospital personnel.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
  • Build collaborative relationships with peers and other staff members to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
