If so, we invite you to become a vital part of Midland Care's PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) team as a Transportation Specialist. Employment Type: Full Time | Monday - Friday, 7:30a-4:30p Pay Rate: $17+/hour (pay is based on requirements and experience) Location: Lawrence, KS As a Transportation Specialist, you'll do more than drive — you’ll build relationships, ensure the safety and comfort of participants, and be a daily point of connection for the seniors we serve. You’ll be the friendly, dependable link between our participants’ homes and our PACE center, making a meaningful difference every single day. Midland Care’s Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is a not-for-profit health care program that helps people at risk for needing nursing home care who meet a level of care requirement stay in their own homes and communities.

  • Provide safe, courteous, and timely transport for PACE participants to and from the center and medical appointments
  • Assist participants in and out of vehicles using proper lifting and safety techniques
  • Maintain accurate daily logs and ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and meet regulatory standards
  • Communicate effectively with the care team regarding schedule changes, participant concerns, and vehicle issues
  • Must possess a valid Kansas or Missouri Driver’s License (within 30 days of hire for out of state licenses), current automobile liability insurance and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization’s insurability standard as defined by Midland policy. These must be current at hire and remain in effect throughout employment.
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen. Must continue to pass these throughout employment.
  • Must have a current DOT physical at all times.
  • Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position.
  • Due to insurance company requirements, must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Prior driving experience.
  • One year of experience working with a frail (elderly or disabled) population.
